Design Manager
Manchester/Nottingham/Leeds
Role and Responsibilities:
- Review client remits and ensure that their expectations are met
- Manage and facilitate required surveys by planning rail access, preparation of works package plans, task briefings and risk assessments where required
- Day to day management of design team
- Oversee managing and maintaining design trackers
- Oversee the management of design change
- Manage and develop Value Engineering/Opportunities up to date for Efficiencies Tracker
- Assist the Senior Design Manager in ensuring key deliverables are managed and delivered in accordance with the agreed programme and price.
- Liaise with QTS Delivery team to ensure designs are being delivered correctly.
- Maintain thorough documentation through the design process
- Identify any scope change in design/surveys and highlight this to the Senior Design Manager and commercial/estimating team
- Arrange and Attend meetings as required with the client and designers
- Participate and engage fully in company appraisal/performance review processes and constantly work to improve your individual, your team and wider group’s performance
Skills required:
- Proven Civil Engineering experience within railway environment (Essential).
- BEng or BSc Minimum Degree in Civil Engineering
- Membership of ICE or equivalent body and working towards corporate membership
- Familiar with the railway standards (Desirable)
- Must be IT literate
- Good attention to detail and highly organised
- Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
