QTS Group has won the Wellbeing in Rail award at the 2025 Rail Business Awards.
Thanks to a strong commitment to the health and safety of our staff, QTS has been successful in taking home the Wellbeing in Rail award against some tough competition.
Touring across site locations and offices UK wide in the QTS safety bus is just one of the incredible reasons our Occupational Health and Safety team were able to acquire this award. Over the last two years, they have carried out health surveillances on approximately 500 people and administered 250 flu vaccines.
On top of this, in April 2023, QTS Group became one of the first railway contractors in the UK to offer the opportunity to take part in cancer screening as part of its annual health surveillance programme. Since then, across the UK 555 staff members have been screened for prostate cancer, 71 for ovarian cancer and 689 for bowel cancer.
Mental health support is also a huge focus for QTS and, as well as working alongside Andy’s Man Club and the Kris Boyd Charity to deliver messaging at our safety stand downs, we also have our own internal campaign called Quit The Stigma, which signposts people where to go if they have any mental health issues. QTS Group also has over 100 mental health first aiders deployed across the UK.
”It's an honour to win such a prestigious award for our commitment to the health and wellbeing of our staff. At QTS, we believe we have a duty to ensure all of our staff are fit and healthy, both physically and mentally, and we make a great effort to not only support staff but give them the tools to keep themselves healthy.

With regular health surveillance check-ups, our team members get eyesight, hearing, blood pressure and many more tests which is all organised and managed by our dedicated Occupational Health team. I am very pleased to see them recognised at the Rail Business Awards.
