Railway contractor QTS Group has made the difference in getting community football club the Holytown Colts to the Mare Nostrum tournament in Salou.
The sponsorship from QTS allowed the under 14s team to attend the tournament held between the 6th-9th of April 2023. The team trained hard and were able to make it into the last 16 knockout stage, unfortunately losing in penalties after a comeback from 2-1 down.
”As a club we rely heavily on sponsorship to be able to provide these experiences for teams of all ages and genders. The money we’ve received from QTS makes a world of difference and we’ll put it to good use.
We’ve been able to get kitted out in some fresh gear and get the whole team to Salou for the tournament. The boys had a fantastic time and made some great memories. They made a great showing and topped their group but unfortunately they got us in penalties.

The Holytown Colts have been a part of the Holytown community for over 45 years and currently support 17 teams of varying ages. Many young players who attended the Mare Nostrum tournament have been a part of the club from as young as three-years-old.
Based in Drumclog, QTS has expanded over the past 30 years to become one of the top railway contractors in the UK. Specialising in a variety of on and off-track maintenance, the company has put its success back in to the community thanks to the direction of MD Alan McLeish.
